Early Treatment (Phase I)

Early intervention is sometimes the best course of action. The American Association of Orthodontists (orthodontic specialists) recommends that your child’s first visit to an orthodontist should be at the age of 7. Treatment may not start this young, but early detection allows us to identify potential jaw or teeth problems, possibly preventing oral surgery or extractions in the future. If you see any of the following warning signs in your child, call us to schedule a complimentary consultation so that we have a plan in place when you need it.

5 Signs To Watch For

Finger sucking or other oral habits, Mouth breathing, Crowded baby teeth that are preventing permanent teeth from erupting, Difficulty chewing or biting, or Grinding of teeth, especially at night.

Adolescent Treatment

The early teen years (11-15) are the most common for orthodontic treatment as by now, the permanent teeth have all come in making problems like crooked teeth, bad bites and gaps easy to detect. It’s also a great time for orthodontic treatment since the negative association with braces isn’t as prominent with this age group. And with many different options for treatment, including the ability to customize the color of your braces, getting orthodontics can be both fun and effective.
